Animal Recovery Centre

The New ARC

What is the Vimaan Suan Animal Recovery Centre?

On Dec 1, 2019, Vimaan Suan established its Animal Recovery Centre (ARC) in Xaythany District, Vientiane Capital. The ARC is part of our Rescue Project where dogs and cats that are treated by our Partner Veterinarians can be sent to rehabilitate before they are eventually placed in either a foster or forever home.

As most of our rescues have suffered neglect or abuse at the hands of humans before they were rescued.  The ARC is a place for them to recover from any conditions after being treated by our Partner Veterinarians.  While they are recovering, our full-time Caregiver and part-time Veterinarian who live on-site will help them unlearn their fear and distrust for people while preparing them to be either fostered or adopted.

In July 2022, we were asked to move the ARC to a new location.  Our New ARC is located in PhontongChommany and has more space for rescues to rehabilitate and be rehomed from.  We are very thankful to all our supporters for their generous support to help us fit out the spaces for the rescues.  We will complete the move to the New ARC before August 1, 2022.

The Animal Recovery Centre is NOT a public shelter and will not accept animals that have not yet been cleared by one of our Partner Veterinarians.

NOTE: The Animal Recovery Centre is only open by appointment on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 2pm.  If you would like to visit, please send us a message on our FaceBook page with the reason for your visit.  We will not admit anyone who shows up without an appointment.
